Scoreboard: Cheteshwar Pujara's maiden double ton calls shots for India
Ahmedabad: Young Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara provided a double blow to the visiting English team as he smoked his maiden double century at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera on Friday.

Pujara, who was in great nick throughout his unbeaten inning, helped Indian team to mount a mammoth total of 521/8. Pujara scored 206 runs off 389 balls with 21 flourishing boundaries and remained unbeaten when India invited tired English team to bat before stumps on day 2.

Earlier, smashing opener Virender Sehwag slammed a run-a-ball 117 runs and gave a solid start to the team. Besides Sehwag and Pujara, Yuvraj Singh also played a handy 74 runs knock off 151 balls. He hit 6 fours and 2 huge sixes.

Former world no.1 bowler Graeme Swann completed another five-wicket haul on day 2. It was his 13th five-wicket haul overall.

Just after the unstoppable Indian batting line up hung a gigantic total on the board, it was time for the Indian bowlers to deliver keeping in mind the striking 4-0 defeat at the English soil that happened last year.

The bowlers didn't disappoint at all and bagged 3 quick key wickets of the English top order along with the night watchman James Anderson who is no mug with the bat either.

First wicket was taken by orthodox spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the form of Nick Compton while England had just posted 26 on the board in contrast to India's total. James Anderson was promoted up the order as a night-watchman but was sent back to the pavilion by left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha at 29 runs on the board. Ashwin did the trick again as he stunned the classy batsman Jonathan Trott and got him on a duck.

At the end of the day India was in a commanding position as they are still leading by 480 runs, while England has only 7 wickets remaining. Skipper Alastair Cook (22 off 39) and Kevin Pietersen (6 off 6) are still on the crease. England is struggling at 41/3 at the end of Day 2.
