Search for Philippines minister still on after plane crash

As per reports an aide of Robredo who managed to escape the incident is helping the search operation from the hospital. The plane took off from the central Cebu city as one of the engines failed 30 minutes into the flight. There were attempts made by the pilot and the co pilot to land in Masbate province, however, they missed the strip by half a kilometre.
The search operations is being backed by US military. President Benigno Aquino III along with his defence chief and the heads of the national police and the military to Masbate came to see the efforts being made to track missing Jesse Robredo.
In initial stages of the search, the tip of the right wing of the plane was found as per the Defence Secretary. Uncountable number of divers are being used to track the location of the missing. Several helicopters and ships have also been deployed for the same.
Aged 54, Robredo is popular with the public for the reforms he introduced and his for his work against corruption. The Harvard-educated Robredo has been a recipient of Ramon Magsaysay award in the year 2000 for good governance.
Countrymen, Cabinet officials and friends gathered to pray for Robredo in Manila and at his residence in Naga city.
