Sensex dips in initial trade, down 76.54 pts

Mumbai: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) benchmark index for the Indian equities markets on Thursday was trading on a negative note in the morning trade.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the BSE which opened at 17,433.50 points was ruling at 17,414.27 down by 76.54 points or 0.44 percent at 9:19 am.

The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was trading at 5,268.60 points down by 19.20 points or 0.36 percent.

The BSE midcap index was trading down by 0.38 percent while BSE smallcap index was down by 0.09 percent.
