Sensex marginally down in morning trade

Mumbai: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) benchmark index for the Indian equities markets on Monday was trading in a weak note in the morning session.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the BSE which opened at 17,438.68 points was trading at 17,420.55 points, down by 9.43 points or 0.05 percent at around 9.30 am.

The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was trading at 5,275.95 points, down by 2.95 points or 0.06 percent.

The BSE midcap index was trading 1.62 percent up while the BSE smallcap index was 1.31 percent higher.
