Sensex red in morning trade, down 77.03 pts

Mumbai: The benchmark index for Indian equities markets on Thursday was trading on a negative note in the morning trade.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the BSE which opened at 17,271.77 points was at 17,224.88 points, down by 77.03 points or 0.45 percent at 9:34 am.

The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was trading at 5,211.20 points, down by 27.95 points or 0.53 percent.

The BSE midcap index was trading at 6,290.61 points or 0.13 percent down while BSE smallcap index was down at 6,769.42 or 0.13 percent.
