Sensex sinks in morning trade, down 100.29 pts

Mumbai: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) benchmark index for the Indian equities markets on Thursday was trading on a negative note in the morning trade. The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the BSE which opened at 18,292.22 points was ruling at 18,395.72 down by 100.29 points or 0.54 percent from previous close at 9:26 am.
The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was trading at 5,536.95 points down by 63.10 points or 1.13 percent.
The BSE midcap index was trading down by 0.87 percent while BSE smallcap index was also down by 0.64 percent.
