Shahrukh, Bollywood express grief over Vilasrao Deshmukh's death

Mumbai: Many of eminent names of the cinema industry expressed grief over the demise of former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Vilasrao Deshmukh. His son, Riteish Deshmukh and wife Genelia D'souza (Vilasrao's daughter-in-law) are actors in Bollywood. The film fraternity passed condolences to the Deshmukh family.

Shah Rukh Khan mourned the death of Vilasrao Deshmukh. "I'm feeling very sorry. I have known him for years. Riteish is a close friend of mine. I spoke to him. I am very sad, it is very unexpected," Shah Rukh said on the sidelines of an event here. "He was a wonderful gentleman, apart from being the chief minister. He was a very wonderful person. My respects to the family. I am deeply disturbed," added the 46-year-old.

Celebrities extended condolences to the bereaved family through twitter.

Union minister and former Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh passed away at 67 in a Chennai hospital on Tuesday following prolonged illness. The Hindi film fraternity wished peace to the departed soul and strength to the late minister's family, including his actor-son Riteish. Vilasrao is survived by his wife and three sons.
