Kolkata: One amongst the former top bowlers across globe, Wasim Akram, has decided not to coach Shahrukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the sixth season of the Indian Premiere League (IPL 6). The information was distributed to media houses via press release on Monday.
Pakistan pace star Akram has put forward the desire of spending more time with family and the reason for quitting his job.
"Wasim Akram will be badly missed. He is a legend and a great motivator to have around the team. However, we fully appreciate the reason why he will be unavailable. We hope to work with him in future," KKR chief executive officer Venky Mysore said in a media release.
Team management said that Wasim been an integral part of the team for the past three seasons.
The franchise also announced Team India fielding coach Trevor Penney as their new fielding coach.
