Sridevi's English Vinglish to release in September

Mumbai: Yesteryear's actress Sridevi is making her comeback in the industry after 14 years through R Balki's English Vinglish.

Reportedly, the movie which is shot in three languages viz Hindi, Tamil and Telugu will release on 21st September 2012 worldwide.

The movie also marks director Gauri Shinde's debut in Bollywood. It is about the impact of not knowing English language in a country like India where the language is a status symbol. French actor Mehdi Nebbou, Adil Hussain and Priya Anand will also feature in the movie. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan will give a guest appearance.

Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International Media Ltd was glad with the movie's announcement and said, "With English Vinglish, we are excited for Sridevi's return to acting and with Balki and Gauri at the helm, we believe there's a lot of anticipation around the film. Eros is very proud to associate with this project and present it to audiences worldwide".

R Balki said, "Sridevi is such a natural and was the perfect choice for this role. Not knowing English in our country is a big deal. Three things differentiate people here - fame, money and the knowledge of English. The film deals with her insecurities and how she shows the world that speaking the language isn't a big deal. I am pleased to tie-up with Eros International who will present this film on a global platform."
