Hyderabad: Telugu actor Anjali who in order to escape alleged harassment from her mother left her place and shifted to Hyderabad, apparently went missing from a hotel in Hyderabad's Hubilee Hills.
The actor has gone missing on Monday morning and her family has registered a complaint on Tuesday evening.
Anjali's brother Ravi Shanker apparently claimed that his sister was being harassed by their uncle, aunt and a movie producer for money. She was raised in Chennai by her aunt, who claimed to have adopted Anjali when she was 15.
The entire controversy began when Anjali allegedly called up some Tamil media personnel on Sunday and claimed serious allegations against Devi, Babu and Kollywood director Mu Kalanjiyam. It is heard that Bharathi Devi, who was often seen accompanying her on shoots is actually her step mom.
The actor claimed that her mother has been using all her money and has even conned the sum she earned through acting so far. The buzz was that Anjali will stop acting in Tamil films following exploitation. However, she is keen on taking up Sundar's Kalakalappu 2 which is scheduled to start in July this year.
Anjali is working for Telugu remake of Bollywood hit Bol Bachchan opposite Venkatesh and Ravi Teja-starrer Balupu. Anjali arrived Hyderabad four days ago for the shoot with her uncle Suri Babu.
On Monday morning Anjali got out of the hotel but she didn't come back even the lady's cell-phone was found switched off. Actor's uncle instead to call police left for Chennai.
When Shanker came to know about Anjali by a newspaper he tried to contact her. Jubilee Hills inspector D Pradeep Kumar said, "As he could not reach her on the phone, Ravi Shanker called up Devi and Babu and realised that she went missing from the hotel."
On Tuesday evening, Shanker registered a missing complaint.
