Lucknow: The US ambassador to India, Nancy J. Powell called on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday. The meeting, described as a courtesy call, was unscheduled.A source said, "Powell met Yadav at his residence at 5, Kalidas Marg this afternoon. It was a courtesy meeting." During the meeting, the US envoy expressed her wishes to extend and consolidate bilateral ties with India, especially with Uttar Pradesh.
She said that Uttar Pradesh has an immense potential for investment and took a first-hand account of the priorities of the state government.
Powell also met Governor BL Joshi and visited Rajbhawan.
