Mahoba: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Uma Bharti on Wednesday sat on dharna outside the police station in Charkhari, after three of her supporters were arrested following information that they distributed money among voters.
As per the reports, the drama began in Mahoba district on Wednesday night when Uma came to know about the incident and immediately rushed to the police station with her other party workers. The BJP leader staged a dharna at the Charkhari police station, demanding to release the three men.
Reports also reveal that police have released Uma's supporters but the district collector has said that the administration would take legal action on this issue. The three party workers, who were detained, have been identified as Piyush, Jitendra and Hamir Singh.
Uma is contesting as BJP candidate from Charkhari where polling is scheduled on Thursday.
