Lucknow: The results of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls will be released tomorrow and the exit polls point that Samajwadi Party will lead but it will be a hung assembly.
Team Pardaphash conducted an exit poll the result of which we are putting here:
Samajwadi Party: 135-150 seats
Bahujan Samaj Party: 95-105 seats
Congress+RLD: 65-75 seats
Bhartiya Janta Party: 55-60 seats
Others: 10-13 seats
Our exit poll indicates that Mulayam Singh Yadav's SP will be ahead of the others but will be closely followed by Mayawati's BSP. The close contest between the two clearly points to a hung assembly.
Congress will gain much more than in the 2007 elections because of the campaigning of Rahul Gandhi but BJP will not be able to gain enough advantage. Some exit polls had predicted that SP will gain more than 150 seats. The large number of seats that SP seems to gain is because of the campaigning of Akilesh Yadav.
If SP is voted to power, it will need an alliance to form a government. With around 75 seats, Congress looks the best option.
