UP Farmer’s personal insurance cover raised from Rs One Lakh to Five lakh

It may be pointed out that this insurance policy is being executed since 2004-05 for approximately 2.5 crore co-account holders/account holders in the state. This policy is completely financed by the state government and the premium of this policy is borne by the state government. Under this policy, the term farmer is used for those who have accounts or are co-account holders in the revenue records of the state and whose age is between 12 to 70 years.
In case of unnatural death, the policy cover for them so far was Rs One lakh which has now been upped to Rs five lakh. In case the farmer ventures out of his house for agriculture work and meets accidents such as being hit by lightening, electric shock, bitten by snake, drowning or some other accident the next of kin will get Rs 5 lakh as insurance amount.
