Veteran actor Joy Mukherjee passes away

Mumbai: After a long illness, veteran actor Joy Mukherjee passed away on Friday at the age of 73. Joy was suffering from respiratory problems and was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Monday. He was kept on ventilator there.
According to his spokesperson R R Pathak, the actor had not been keeping too well for some time.
The actor's good looks earned him instant popularity when he forayed into filmdom with 1960 hit film 'Love In Simla'. His popularity soared with projects like 'Shagird', 'Love In Tokyo', 'Ziddi', 'Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon' and 'Ek Musafir Ek Hasina'.
Joy is succeeded by his wife Neelam and three children (two sons and a daughter).
