Patna: Bihar Board 2012 results website for class 12 is down following high traffic. There has been times in past that only Bihar board website used to be up during the result declaration and almost all other board website used to be down, every time the result was declared online. This time the trends seems to have reversed and the Bihar board website is down where as other website such as UP board are up even though UP caters larger base of students in India.
It's common for website to go down during result declaration as they only receive such a burst of traffic that is more then they will be getting in a full year.
So, it's okay if you are the one looking for your result and are not able to open the website. As probably no other website will be able to give you the result. There is no use of leaving your roll number on various website and making comments for someone else to tell your result.
This (http://www.biharboard.net/interresult.html) is where you are gonna get your result but only after the traffic will be reduced to an extent that their servers can handle. Have patience and try the link again.
It's worth noting that there are certain cloud services like Amazone EC2, Softlayer, etc which can handle much more then traffic these sites will be getting on a day and they are quite cheap. But none of the board result seems to be hosted on services like these. It's such a pity that all the board's don't really use these services and try to have bigger and bigger servers each time the result will be declared. NIC has been able to do it with partial success after repeated failure. And no one know at what cost ?
Hosting a result site will such service provider will be a boom for the students as they will not be supposed to spend hours to get their result online even after it has been declared.
As far we have been able to monitor the various result websites this season this is the first one to be down for so long. We will update you once the website will be up.
If you are unsure about what is Hosting or Web Hosting? Then you should continue to read. What so ever page you are seeing on your computer screen through browser, it's being sent by some computer on the other side and we call such computer a web servers or simply servers. The location where these servers are located is called Hosting Center/ Data Center. These computer/servers generally have high bandwidth and processing powers. More can be read about the same on wikipedia
Not being able to deliver the result on time tells the story of Indian Education Administrators. If a result has to be declared by a private sector website they will make more money then they will be spending on hosting and end users/ students will not be harassed to know their result.
