San Francisco: The long wait is over as Microsoft has announced that its new operating system Windows 8 will be available on October 26, the brand new version of the Windows series of operating system is attributed with high level of engineering and the buzz is that it will be a catalyst to shift the world from personal computers to smartphone and tablets.
Microsoft announced that its next-generation operating system tailored for a world shifting from personal computers to smartphones and tablets will be available on October 26. The launch date of the operating system was decided in a sales meeting as revealed by Steven Sinofsky from Windows, as per Brandon LeBlanc who is the communication manager of the company the operating system will be made available in 109 languages in across 231 markets.
Windows 8 will allow users to experience the new cloud computing technology where they can save and share personal data using SkyDrive which is the Microsoft cloud computing service. The latest version of the Windows series operating system will support a lot more devices apart from desktop and laptops which include tablets and smartphone, the launch of the new Windows 8 is being seen as a step of Microsoft to enter the smartphone OS battle that is being fought by Google and Apple as of now.
