Wrestler Sangram Singh celebrates his birthday today
Rohtak (Haryana): One of athletes who made it big on international grounds is Sangram Singh, originally named Sanjit Kumar. He is a wrestler and wrestling coach from India. As a wrestler, he won gold medal at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship held in South Africa.

Sangram Singh was born on July 1 at Madina village, Rohtak, Haryana. Sanjit has a normal family background. His father was in government job and mother is a house wife. Sanjit is the youngest member in his family and has a brother and a sister. Although, he was born as a premature baby and was very weak in comparison to other children, but he grew to became a takedown machine. When he was born his weight was only 2100 Gms and later he got arthritis, it was so dangerous and due to this his hands and legs stopped working and he could not move.

Despite all these challenges, today Sanjit Kumar stands as a famous international wrestler and the one who represented India many times. He has won medals at national and international levels. He is currently a contestant on the Indian version of the reality show Survivor. He also pursued LLB back in 2012 and also wrote a book on natural remedies.

 2005: Top Ten wrestler in the world in Senior Wporld Wrestling Championship in Budapest , Hungary
 2006: Commonwealth Championship in South Africa
 2006: John Ritz Big Five International Tournment in Johnnesburg, South Africa
 2007: Sh. Rajiv Gandhi Rashtriya Ekta Award
 2009: Mr. Haryana Title
