Mumbai: This year has been really fortunate for rapper Honey Singh and as the year is going to bid farewell Honey Singh has received another mighty gift from it as the recent reports suggest that he has got opportunity to work with ace lyricist Gulzar.
As per reports, last week Yo Yo recorded a song written by the peerless and super-posh Gulzar. The two collaborated for a special song in Abhishek Choubey's upcoming "Dedh Ishqiya". This interesting idea was generated by the film's producer and music composer Vishal Bharadwaj.
If sources close to him are believed, "Yo Yo gets 45-50 offers to do film songs every week. When he received a call from Vishal Bhardwaj Yo Yo thought it was a prank, more so when he was told it was for song written by Gulzar Saab, he was on cloud nine."
Honey gave his voice for the song titled Horn Ok Please, which would be filmed on actor Arshad Warsi, who plays the role of 'Babban' in it. Yo Yo for the first time has sung in the Delhi-UP accent.
Talking about the song and his collaboration with Gulzar Sahab, Honey said, "What a year 2013 has been for me! I got tremendous acceptance from Bollywood and I sang for Shah Rukh Bhai, Akshay Bhai and Ranbir. Then at the year-end came this. I've idolized Gulzar Saab from childhood. To sing one of his lyrics is a dream come true for a small-town Punjabi musician like me."
Well, it seems that after becoming choice of youth now Honey has become everyone's choice in the Hindi film industry too.
