Zee News vs Jindal: Bail application of arrested editors dismissed

The Court reportedly said, "Investigation is at preliminary stage. It was (bail application) earlier dismissed by the duty Metropolitan Magistrate... No fresh ground has arisen since then... Hence in my considered opinion it has being dismissed."
Chaudhary, head of Zee News and Ahluwalia, head of Zee Business, were arrested in the capital on November 27.
Earlier, the bail pleas of the Zee News Editors' was deferred till December 3.
Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Rao deferred their bail petition as the investigating officer and public prosecutor Rajiv Mohan were not present at the hearing.
Police booked Chaudhary and Ahluwalia under Sections 384 (extortion), 120(b) (criminal conspiracy) and 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
