Residence of Lalu’s kin raided by I-T department

A number of raids were today conducted at the Lalu Prasad Yadav’s kin residence by the Income Tax Department in the over Rs 1000 crore Benami land deals.

The Central Bureau of Investigation for the meantime is reported to have raided former Finance Minister P Chidambaram’s house in Chennai.

Lalu Prasad Yadav, however, is yet to respond to the raids. The Income Tax department conducted raids and surveys at 22 locations in Delhi, Gurugram on the charges of Benami land deals worth Rs 1000 crore, involving Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Meanwhile, JD(U) leader Pawan Varma told Times Now that Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said that any allegations of wrongdoings must be probed. He said that the JD(U)’s alliance had been made with the RJD and not with Lalu Prasad Yadav.
