The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 16,119.08 points ended at 16,070.48 points, up by 40.39 points or 0.25 percent.
The midcap was up by 0.02 percent while the smallcap by 0.09 percent.
