Uri (Jammu and Kashmir): Near about 10 militants along with an Indian soldier were killed today after Indian army soldiers claimed to have foiled two infiltration bids from Pakistan near the Line of Control (LoC), just after two days when militants strike at the Uri Army Headquarter during which 18 Indian Army soldiers were killed along with four terrorists.

According to Defence sources, the infiltration bids came after the two countries are locked in a diplomatic war of words due to deadly unrest in Kashmir Valley.

The infiltration attempt was made under the cover of firing from Pakistan side at Indian posts, as a group of 15 heavily armed militants attempted to cross over to the side of the LoC near Uri which is 100 kilometers from Srinagar.

The army said, the operation near the Lachipora border area of the garrision town was on and by late Tuesday night.
