29 dead, 166 injured in twin explosions in Istanbul city

Istanbul: In two separate deadly blasts in central Istanbul on yesterday night left at least 29 persons dead and other 166 injured.

According to Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu briefed media persons that a moving car was ignited to target police personals on duty near a stadium in the district of Besiktas.

Officials said on Sunday morning that blast took place where a football match ended about one and a half hour before when some spectators were leaving the stadium.

Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus said a minute later, a man blew himself up in Macka Park just across the stadium.

The Interior Minister said at least 10 suspects were detained in connection with the blasts while six prosecutors were given task to investigate the attacks.

Health Minister Recep Akdag said, three of the injured were in critical condition.

Although no group has claimed responsibility of the attacks but a series of bombings reported in the country this year by Islamic State militants.
