91 people go missing as Russian military plane goes off radar

Moscow: According to the information given by the authorities, Russian Defence Ministry plane with around 70 people on board has gone missing from radar screens subsequent to the departure from the resort city of Sochi.




Emergency Ministry source gave information that Russian Defence Ministry plane lost contact with land over the Black Sea.

He further The Tu-154 aircraft is not a civilian one and was en route to the Syrian port city of Latakia.

“The jet disappeared from radars about 20 minutes after takeoff, it departed (from Sochi) at 5.20 a.m., and the contact was lost at about 5.40 a.m.,” he said.




As per the sources, the people in the plane included military personnel, journalists, musicians and approx 70 people were reported that the plane was carrying during the incident. The Tupolev Tu-154 is a three-engine medium-range narrow-body airliner designed in the mid-1960s and manufactured by Tupolev.
