AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya faces arrest for slapping 60-year-old

New Delhi: Trouble seems to be mounting for the AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya as he has been accused of slapping a 60-year-old for supposedly for not recognizing him. As per reports, the incident took place in Tughlakabad locality here on Friday.

The victim, identified as Rakesh was also attacked by the party workers of Mohaniya who accompanied him and they even misbehaved with the women present at the spot. Mohaniya, who went to the Tughlakabad locality saw local coming up to him with problems of water scarcity in their area.

Sources close to the development said that the AAP workers were asking the locals to tell about the problems they were facing. When they asked Rakesh to do the same, the latter taunted at the AAP government saying that water crisis is the biggest problem under his rule. Agitated with the man’s reply, Mohaniya slapped him.

Soon, the incident was reported to the police who rushed to the spot and then took Rakesh to a hospital for examination. Following statement by the victims and the witnesses, an FIR against Mohaniya, under sections 323, 341 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered. Also, Maohaniya has been arrested.

However, Mohaniya refused to be aware of any such happening as he said, “I am unaware of any such incident as I was at Jhandewalan. You should ask the complainant for details.” He also said that the video which is doing rounds on the social media is doctored.

This is the second FIR against Mohaniya in a week as a woman accused him of misbehavior.
