AAP ridicules Rahul Gandhi’s protest against drug menace in Punjab

Jalandhar: Ahead of the upcoming Assembly Polls in Punjab, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will lead a protest here against the growing drug menace in the state.

As per reports, the Gandhi scion will be accompanied by the Congress workers of the state’s unit. Along with protesting against the grave dangers to the state due to growing drug menace, Rahul will also talk about the growing lawlessness here.

Confirming the same, Rahul’s office took to Twitter and wrote, “Will join the mass protest in Jalandhar on Monday, 13th June, to highlight rampant drug abuse and collapse of law & order in Punjab.”

Ridiculing Rahul’s protest against drugs in the state, the Aam Aadmi Party said that Congress was adopting double standards at the time when the party had failed to take any action against the same even when the matter was brought to the notice of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

Also, the protest comes at the time during the ongoing controversy over the film ‘Udta Punjab’ which is based on drug abuse in the state.
