Adani gets Modi’s assistance yet again, Rupees 200 cr green fine cancelled

A green fine of rupees 200 crore was cancelled by the Union environment ministry that was imposed on Adani Ports & SEZ for damage to the environment during the United Progressive Alliance (UPA).

Government has withdrawn its demand of Rs 200 crore restoration fund and the ministry also extended the environmental clearance issued in 2009 to the company’s waterfront development project at Mundra in Gujarat.

There are several benefits given indirectly to the group by the union government. Several stringent conditions the ministry had earlier issued notice for to Adani have been withdrawn as well.
