Amir Khan wishes to be biggest name in boxing

Las Vegas: British boxer Amir Khan today expressed that he wants to be the biggest name in the sport ahead of the biggest fight of his career in which he will take on WBC middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

The 2004 Olympics silver medallist is billed as the underdog against his more illustrious rival, but is confident that he will be hailed as the new king of the sport with Floyd Mayweather Jnr retired.

“If I win this fight I really believe I will be the next big superstar in boxing. This won’t even be the pinnacle, there is still a lot more to do,” Khan was quoted as saying by the Daily Star on the eve of the fight.

“Every fight is massive, but if I win and have another fight here, it will be even bigger,” he added.
