Amitabh, Nutan Thakur file petition for probe into senior officers' role against them

Lucknow: Suspended IPS officer Amitabh Thakur and activist Dr. Nutan Thakur on Saturday moved to Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court with prayer to constitute a Judicial Commission to enquire into the role of various senior officers right from Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan and DGP Jagmohan Yadav in harassing them illegally.

The petition says that after pursuing Yadav Singh and Gayatri Prajapati case, Amitabh and Nutan are being persecuted in all possible manners, including threat on January 1, false rape allegations on January 17, threat by Mulayam Singh Yadav on July 10, false rape FIR on July 11, suspension and departmental enquiry on July 13 and FIR for disproportionate assets on September 16.

They have said that they have been representing their cases to the various senior officers right from the beginning but they were not heard at any level. On the contrary, many illegalities have been committed against them at direct intervention of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

Hence the petition prays for judicial enquiry of the role of senior officers, right from Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan, into entire sequence of events that took place with Amitabh and Nutan during last 9 months and appropriate action against those found guilty.
