Amity Noida student commits suicide for not appearing in examination

Noida: An Amity Noida University student of BA, LLB course hanged himself from ceiling fan at his Sarojini Nagar residence in South Delhi on August 10.

The student identified as Sushant Rohilla first locked himself in the room at his residence and later refused to have breakfast on Wednesday morning last week.

The 21-year-old Sushant took the extreme step after being barred by the Amity administration from appearing in the exams, due to poor attendance

He hanged himself on August 10th at his residence by leaving a suicide note, though the suicide note does not give the reason of suicide, his sister, Mehak Rohilla shared an email of her brother, which he had addressed to Amity founder Dr Ashok Chauhan, requesting him not to be debarred.

A copy of an e-mail sent by Sushant to college authorities on May 11 notes that the latter did send e-mails on this issue to his father.

A protests on Tuesday rocked Amity law School in Noida over the suicide of Sushant.
