Arvind Kejriwal, Rahul Gandhi arrested over meeting with ex-soldier family

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been arrested by the Delhi Police today from outside Lady Hardinge Hospital over meeting with the family members of retired army soldier who committed suicide over implementation of implementation of ‘One-Rank One-Pension’ (OROP).

The police have taken CM Kejriwal to the R.K Puram police station.

According to sources, police have detained Delhi CM over precautionary measure to avoid any kind of political activity out the hospital.

Earlier in the morning, Arvind Kejriwal said police were not letting him go to a police station to meet the family of a retired soldier who committed suicide.

“My vehicle surrounded by police. Not allowing me to leave,” the Aam Aadmi Party leader tweeted from outside the Lady Hardinge Hospital which had conducted the autopsy of ex-serviceman Ram Kishan Grewal.

Earlier, the police detained Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi-the former after he met the dead man’s son and the latter for trying to meet the grieving family.

Gandhi was let off after some 70 minutes, only to be detained again.
