New Delhi: On Thursday, the ongoing atrocities on the Dalit community will be discussed in the Lok Sabha. Talking on the same, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said that the government never refrains from discussing any issues.
In a recent incident which took place on Monday, two Dalit brothers were hired to skin a cow that had died of electric shock, were attacked by a mob comprising 100 ‘gau rakshaks’. It is alleged that the brothers had stolen and killed the cow. Currently, they are undergoing treatment at a hospital and one of them is serious as he was critically injured.
Reports are that the assailants have been identified by the attackers.
This yet another shameful incident comes days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his public address asked the so-called cow-vigilantes to stop attacking the Dalits. He had said, “I would like to tell all countrymen that they beware of these fake cow protectors.”
Recently, number of incidents with the Dalits has come into light, one of them being the assault on Dali men in Una, Gujarat on allegations of killing and later skinning the cow. This incident created a stir within the political arena and thus saw the opposition attacking the centre.
