Melbourne: India’s tennis sensation Leander Paes and his Swiss partner Martina Hingis entered the quarter-finals of the Australian Open after defeating Australians Casey Dellacqua and Matt Reid 6-2, 6-3.
Match lasted for 54 minutes at Melbourne Park and was a comfortable win for Indo-Swiss pair as they got an early break in the fourth game of the first set.
There were in total six aces hit by the Paes-Martina team, two more than their opponents. Hingis played from the baseline while Paes dominated the net proceedings.
Both of them kept the momentum going in the second set, breaking in the eighth game to pull ahead 5-3. They then held their serve to finish off the match, pocketing 55 of the 96 total points played.
