AusvsPak: Aussies fight back as match heads towards a draw

David Warner’s maiden Test century along with Usman Khawaja’s unbeaten 95 landed Australia in a commanding position and the second Test match between Australia and Pakistan is heading towards a draw here at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Australian batsmen garnered a fightback in response to the Pakistan’s first innings of 443 for 9 declared. It was a strong batting display by Warner and Khawaja that made Australia reach 278 for 2 at stumps.

Steve Smith is unbeaten on 10 along with Usman Khawaja who is unbeaten at the score of 95. Earlier, it was a stupendous batting display by Pakistani opener Azhar Ali who made 205 not out and registered his name to become highest Pakistani scorer in Australia.

For Australia it was Warner (144 from 143 balls) along with Khawaja who took the match away from the opposition by making a 198-run second-wicket partnership and Warner also achieved a milestone of reaching to 5000 career Test runs.
