Azam Khan misusing his power to exchange demonetized currency

Rampur: Vice president of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee Minority Cell, Faisal Khan Lala today put allegations on senior Samajwadi party leader and minister in ruling government Azam Khan that he has exchanged cash illegally in Rampur city Co-operative bank.

Faisal in his allegation mentioned that Azam has been misusing his power to get his demonetised cash exchanged illegally in Rampur District.

The issue has been brought in the knowledge of Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik and a note of the issue has been forwarded to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to take proper action in the matter.

The Congress leader in his complaint alleged that Azam Khan’s currency notes were illegally exchanged by the bank.

Faisal complained about the matter to Union Finance Minister and RBI governor Urjit Patel on November 12th. Following which, the RBI Governor had stopped exchange of currency notes in co-operatives bank branch which comes under the Jauhar University.

He claimed that Azam then got a case registered against him through the chairman of the co-operative bank.

The report said, Faisal has demanded a probe to find out if the bank was involved in converting Khan’s black money into white.

According to Faisal, Azam Khan has huge number of illegal property worth billions of rupees. The Governor took this matter seriously and reported it to Jaitley for action.
