Bangladeh’s Kishoreganj district rocked with blasts on Eid

Dhaka: On the occasion of Eid, a policeman was killed and nine others were injured during blasts near Sholakia ground at Kishoreganj district. The blasts occurred just before the beginning of the Eid Prayers.

As per police officials, the attackers threw bombs at a police team which led to the killing of an officer. Also, it is still not clear as to how many bombs exploded here. The killing of a police official was confirmed by Bangladesh’s I&B.

Also, the ministry said that around three lakh people had come together to offer Eid Prayers at the spot. As of now, the assailants are on a runaway and are yet to be identified. Reports are that gun fire was also exchanged during the blasts.

A police officer in the Kishoreganj control room said, “One police constable is dead and at least five others were injured.” Reports are that one of the attackers was also killed while detonating the bomb.

The incident took place at 9:30 am in Kishoreganj area. Heavy Security has been deployed in and around the city and red alert has also been issued.

Recently, in an attack at a cafe in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka 20 people were killed out of which one of them was an Indian girl, Tarishi Jain.
