Batsmen shine for India at stumps day 2nd during 4th Test

Mumbai: Host India team batsman today gave a strong reply after bowler off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took five wickets to stop visitors England all out for 400 runs during the second day of the fourth Test at Wankhede stadium.




Indian batsmen reached 146 for the loss of 1 wicket at the end of the day second session play. The batsman took the game on the brilliant side after Ashwin took two more wickets today to return with the innings figures of 112/6, Murali Vijay was batting on (70 runs) along with Cheteshwar Pujara was accompanying him on the crease with 47 runs that gives lead to Indian side in reply of England’s first innings 400 all out with a 107-run stand for the unbroken second wicket partnership.

The host is leading with 2-0 in the five-match Test series and now trail England by 254 runs with nine wickets in hand on the track which is giving numerous turns and bounces to the spinners.




The opener from the Indian side Vijay rediscovered his form with brilliant knock of 70 runs not out. On other hand in-form number three batsman Pujara continued to distress England team by making 47 runs standing on the crease. The host closed the day with better runs on 146 in just 52 overs with the loss of one wicket in comparison with England team.
