Bihar School Education Board Chairman resigns from post

Patna: In a very surprising stunt the Chairman of Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh has resigned from his post soon after Special Investigation Team (SIT) conducts raids on his house on Wednesday.

Basically, his resignation came after ther ongoing irregularities in the marks of Intermediated examination results.

Even the Vishun Roy Collage director-cum Principal Amit Kumar alias Bachcha Rai is still on run after an FIR was registered against him on Monday on a complaint filed by the BSEB for allaged irregularities in the examinations.

An FIR has been registered against Bihar class 12th Board topper from Science stream Saurabh Shrestha and Art topper Ruby Rai.

“Under pressure to quit, Singh has resigned,” an official of the education department said.

According to reports, a special investigation team of Bihar Police probing the case after an FIR (first information report) was lodged, is likely to detain Singh for interrogation.

“Some evidences suggest Singh’s involvement into the merit list muddle that defamed the state like never before,” an SIT official told media persons here.

Raids are being conducted to detain Singh but he is missing now, the official said. “Neither he is available at his official bungalow nor in his official chamber.”
