Bipin Rawat named new Army Chief, Birender Singh Dhanoa to be IAF chief

New Delhi: The Government today announced the names of next Indian Army, Lt Gen Bipin Rawat, the vice chief of the Indian Army, will be the next Army chief he will succeed General Dalbir Singh Suhag.

And on other hand the new Indian Air Force chiefs will be Birender Singh Dhanoa who is currently serving on the post of Air Marshal.

The army vice chief, Lt Gen Bipin Rawat from Uttarakhand will be next Chief of Indian Army. He will take charge of the office of Army chief after 23 days.

Earlier, Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parikar gave hints on December 16th after paying tributes at the Amar Jawan Jyoti in New Delhi on Vijay Diwas or Victory Day that is observed to mark the military triumph over Pakistan in 1971 which led to the creation of Bangladesh.

The Indian Army chief, General Dalbir Singh Suhaag, and the Indian Air Force Chief, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, are both set to retire on 31 December.
