Breaking: Pak handed over Indian soldier who crossed LoC by mistake

Soldier commits near LoC in Rajouri district

Islamabad: The Pakistan Army handed over an Indian soldier who had unintentionally crossed over the Line of Control in Kashmir by mistake last year.

Chandu Babulal Chauhan, Indian soldier had in September 2016 crossed the line of control unintentionally and was captured by the Pakistani forces since then.

The Indian Army stated: “Such inadvertent crossing by the army and civilians are not unusual on either side. They are returned through existing mechanisms.”

The Indian soldier was on duty in Mendhar district of Jammu and Kashmir near the LoC when he suddenly went missing in September.

But later when his family discovered that he was captured by the Pakistan Army his grandmother died with a cardiac arrest after listening the shocking news.

His brother Bhushan Chauhan, a soldier with the Maratha Light Infantry went on to say that: “All border patrols have a buddy system. I can’t believe my brother accidently crossed over. They (army) should ask his buddy what happened?”
