Bulandshahr Gang-Rape Case: HC gives 48 hours ultimatum to Akhilesh government

Allahabad: The Allahabad High court in first hearing of Bulandshahr Gang-Rape Case today took the matter in its hand and thereby questioned Akhilesh Yadav government for ‘why not Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)’ inquiry in the heinous incident which sent shock waves across the country.

The court gave 48 hours ultimatum to the state government to submit a report in the matter.

The lawlessness witnessed during the ruling government has also come under scanner with the opposition attacking it.

Talking about the incident, it took place on July 29 late night when the family was heading for Sahajahanpur from Noida, when they were waylaid by a group of attackers who not only looted them but also raped the 35-year-old woman and her 13-year-old daughter on the highway.

The incident created stir within the political arena, questioning the law and order in the state.

Following lot of criticism, Akhilesh Yadav visited the family and also gave Rs 3 Lakh and a flat each to the victims. Along with this, he promised justice to the victims.
