Bus carrying Amarnath pilgrims falls into gorge in J&K, 16 killed, 35 injured

NEW DELHI: According to the information given by the officials, minimum of 16 Amarnath pilgrims lost their lives while more than 30 got injured when a bus skidded off the Jammu-Srinagar national highway and rolled down into a deep nullah in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ramban, Mohan Lal said the bus skidded off the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway close to Banihal, turned turtle and rolled down into the gorge.

Rescue operations are currently underway.
