We can’t expect every film to do business like ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’: Kabir Khan

Mumbai: Disappointed with the performance of the movie “Tubelight” on the box office, Director Kabir Khan said that he is disappointed with the box office collection of ‘Tubelight’ but he also stated that we cannot expect every film to do business like ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.

While talking to media, he went on to say: “We can’t expect every film to do the business like ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. Every film of mine is put against ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and it is unfair. I am extremely proud of ‘Tubelight’.

After giving blockbuster movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ in 2015, Kabir Khan was listed in the elite group of directors. This year too audience had same kind of expectations from his movie “Tubelight” but eventually he failed to entertain the audience this time.

Reportedly Salman Khan, the main lead actor of the movie has decided to compensate the producers and distributors for the loss they suffered. When enquired about this matter Kabir said: “I am not a producer, I am a line producer of the film. I can’t talk about it as it’s about business. I think it is a great thing. It’s a good gesture by Salman. (But) For the film itself the cost is successful”.
