Kolkata: AIPDA official today stated that Petrol pumps across the country will carry on accepting credit and debiting cards till Friday.
Subsequent to the banks postponing the decision of charging transaction fee up to one per cent on card payments, the All India Petroleum Dealers Association today took the decision to change its earlier announcement after consulting with the Petroleum Ministry.
Yesterday there was an announcement made by the association that they would not accept payments through credit and debit cards from Monday and the move was in objection against the additional charge imposed on such transactions.
However, later while changing the decision AIPDA’s West Bengal unit’s General Secretary Saradindu Pal stated: “Late on Sunday, banks communicated to us they will not levy the transaction fee on card payments till January 13. Accordingly, we have decided to continue accepting payments through cards till Friday”.
