CBI raids: Lalu denies wrongdoing, says BJP behind conspiracy

Lalu Prasad Yadav today in a press briefing stated that all the raids conducted today by the Central Bureau of Investigation are due to conspiracy by BJP government. He further denied any sort of wrongdoing and said that he is not involved in any such scam and illegal allotment of tenders.

Reacting to this Union Minister, Rajiv Pratap Rudy stated: “Nitish Kumar very well knows that the day Lalu Yadav resigns from his post, he will no longer be the CM. So he has made a lot of compromise with his conscience.”

Earlier, Central Bureau of Investigation today raided Lalu Prasad Yadav’s home and his 12 family premises as well in relation to the land scam and alleged irregularities in awarding of tenders for hotel maintenance.

This was tender was done when the Rashtriya Janata Dal chief was the railways minister.

The case has been registered against Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi and their son Tejashwi, who is the deputy chief minister of Bihar, CBI sources said. The then Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation managing director PK Goyal and the wife of Prasad’s confidante Prem Chand Gupta, Sujata, are among the other accused. Gupta is a former union corporate affairs minister.

Similar raids were today conducted in Bihar’s capital Patna, Delhi, Gurgaon in Haryana, Puri in Odisha, and Ranchi in Jharkhand began at around 7:30am.
