Colombia crash: Leaked audio recording reveals that plane ran out of fuel

Medellin: According to the leaked audio recording of the plane that got crashed into a Colombian hillside carrying a Brazilian football team, the possible reason behind the crash was that the plane ran out of fuel.

The pilot of the British Aerospace CP-2933 aircraft can be heard requesting permission to land, citing “fuel problems”.

An air traffic controller ordered the pilot to maintain a circular holding pattern at the same time as a different plane with mechanical problems was given precedence to land.

In the worried concluding seconds of the conversation, the pilot says he is flying at an altitude of 9,000 feet (2,743 metres) and shouts “complete electrical failure, no fuel”.
