Congress President Sonia Gandhi discharged from hospital, advised rest

New Delhi: On Friday, Congress President Sonia Gandhi was discharged from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH).

Confirming the same, the hospital in its statement said, “Sonia Gandhi who was re-admitted on 17th August 2016 for a pre-planned evaluation and a minor procedure to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital has been discharged from the hospital in stable condition today.”

Vice President of Ganga Ram Hospital, SP Byotra in his statement to a daily said that the medication on Sonia Gandhi was carried out successfully and that she is now showing signs of recovery.

The statement read, “She has been advised rest, rehabilitation, and further treatment.”

Previously, the hospital authorities had mentioned that Sonia Gandhi was admitted just for a routine checkup however, later on, the hospital authorities said that she was not well for quite some time.

Sonia was admitted to the SGRH on August 3 after she fell ill while holding a road show in Varanasi.
