After a gap of more than 8 months, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to meet China’s President Xi Jinping at SCO Summit in Astana this morning.
Initial signs are that Indian Prime Minister is going to flag number of issues that have a negative impact on the India-China ties.
Both Indian and Chinese officials expressed hope that Modi and Xi would ensure that bilateral ties will be back on track in the lead-up to the BRICS Summit this September.
Recent remark of Narendra Modi that despite having a border dispute with China, there is no violence to note of is applauded in the Chinese media.
But the differences between India and China will create headline in Astana, more so with India putting special emphasis on terrorism at the SCO.
India’s absence was felt at BRF in May that was attended by so many countries. China gave their 100 percent to convince India to join the forum but India didn’t back down.
