Usage of demonatised currency ending today.

New Delhi: Today is last day for using your old demonetized currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 for making utility bill payments, purchase of railway, Metro and airlines tickets along with doing payment of government hospitals and petrol pumps by the midnight of Thursday i.e (Today).

This facility will no more applicable on Friday onwards until and unless the government will extend the deadline again.

The government after putting ban on the currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 on November 8th had allowed people to use these demonetized notes for purchasing of railway reservations, airline tickets and Metro rail tickets, apart from this people were allowed to make payments of electricity bill, hospital bills and also for doing charges of cremation ground.

Not only this government has given resumption to use the old notes to make purchase of LPG cylinder, milk from booths and also at petrol and diesel filling stations till November 24th midnight.

Earlier, the government puts deadline of November 14th for using old notes for making utility bill payments but it was extended for 10 more days which is lasting on November 24th i.e (tonight).

After the government allowed people to make payment of utility bills and civics taxes with the demonetized notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000, people came forward in large number to use this facility.

The common makes best use of this facility rather than in standing in long queues for hours at banks offices to exchange old currency notes with the new one or have them deposited in their accounts.

The citizens preferred to use old demonatised currency notes to make payment of property tax, fee under Land Regularisation Schemes, arrears and other charges.
